This week our running was even better than last week! The children and their teachers completed a fantastic 250 laps of the track! That equates to 25 kilometres!
The classes who completed the most laps were Mrs. Walsh’s class with 51 laps; and Ms. Murphy’s class who did 36 laps. Both classes were presented with the Winner’s Cups which they will display in their classrooms for the week.
The awards for the best effort went to Albert, Shreya, Joshua, Alee and Piotr. Well done to everyone who took part!
The playground was a hive of activity on this gorgeous sunny day. Ms. Connaughton has designed some beautiful murals and she enlisted the help of the children in First Class to assist her in painting them. The designs around the football pitch are in keeping with our campaign to officially become an ‘Active School’. The design on the basketball court is to illustrate that we are all ‘Global Citizens’ and that we can make the world better when we work together. This is our ‘Green Schools’ theme for this year. Well done to Ms. Connaughton and the children for their great work in brightening up our playground!
As per Dept of Education Directive the school will be closing on Friday 4th May at 12pm in order for the staff to complete training in the new child protection guidelines.
